I think they’re padded pretty good with pretty thick soles. My son runs a lot and he loves them and says they’re comfortable. But he’s in jr high and he grows out of them faster than they wear out. I say for the price they’re worth trying. But for a grown man that won’t grow out of them, you may want to look into some inserts for your shoes. In some cases it might not be the shoes you’re buying but lack of proper support in your problem areas. My chiropractor set me up with inserts made for supporting my feet in the areas I need. I feel my shoes don’t wear out as fast and it’s helped in other areas as well. Good luck
The high tops that I purchased might be a little too heavy for the treadmill. i bought them for use in the snow (they're waterproof) and they are excellent. Great traction. lighter than boots and they look great with jeans.
If he has a wide foot I would say yes , but if not they might be a bit big...Just because they're made from a material that's really stretchy and flexible...Sorry ...They are returnable.
